Yesterday, I informed you, dear readers, that the upcoming movie The Da Vinci Code drew horrible reviews from those at the Cannes Film Festival. This comes as splendid news for those who, like me, cannot stand the book because of the many lies it holds that are disguised as facts. For those who enjoyed the book or already know the truth and don't mind watching the movie anyway, it comes as a black sail on a thin river. After all, some films have drawn poor reviews from critics but have done well amongst moviegoers. Without a doubt, the opening week for The Da Vinci Code will be a big one despite the controversy surrounding it. It will remain to be seen how the following weeks do for the film. If the folks at Cannes were right, the film should drop off more than likely after week two or possibly week three. If not, well, the Code will become one of the exceptions. However, I felt like I would take the time to offer a link to those who are interested in reading about the lies in Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code and the movie by association. The following link is a .pdf file that I visited today and would strongly recommend to both Christians who both support and oppose the book/film and non-Christians as well. It is a 33-page writeup by Dr. Ron Rhodes, an adjunct professor at a handful of seminaries. If you want to check out this link, click here. |
